The Weird Way George Clooney Courted Amal

Ah, courtship . . . the time when we do the corniest, most embarrassing things that we hope no one in the outside world will ever find out about.  With that in mind, my apologies to GEORGE CLOONEY . . .

In a new "Vogue" piece on his wife AMAL, we learn that George used to send her e-mails . . . pretending to be his DOG.

As you probably know, Amal is a lawyer, and the magazine says, quote, "[He wrote] her repeated notes in the voice of his dog Einstein, who claimed to be trapped in various places and in need of legal rescue."

Elsewhere in the profile, George reveals the moment he realized his bachelorhood was over.  It was during a safari in Africa.

He says, quote, "Some giraffes walked up to her.  They just came out of the blue.  I took a picture of her, and she was smiling.

"I said to my buddy Ben, 'You know, I think I should ask her to marry me.'  And Ben said, 'I think that's a good idea.'"

(Amal loves giraffes, FYI.)
