Local Family Taking A Stand Against Childhood Cancer

A Wauwatosa family will be taking a stand against childhood cancer with their upcoming lemonade stand.

The Aldrich family will be hosting their annual lemonade stand on Sunday, June 3 from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. at their home in Wauwatosa.

Their fifth annual lemonade stand is in memory of Jakob Aldrich and will benefit childhood cancer through Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation.

Avery Aldrich was 2 when her brother, Jakob, passed away from rhabdomyosarcoma in 2009 after a three and a half year battle. When Avery was 5, the family came across a lemonade stand in support of ALSF. Avery has been hosting lemonade stands ever since and has raised over $4,300, which funds almost two weeks of childhood cancer research.

The Aldrich family hopes to raise another $500 for childhood cancer research. For more information or to donate, please visit Avery’s 5th Annual Lemonade Stand fundraising page.

If you'd like to visit the lemonade stand on June 3, it will be at the family's home, located at 2322 N. 73rd Street in Wauwatosa.
