Panthers Overwhelm Wright State to Move On To Horizon League Semifinals

MILWAUKEE - There's no place like home.

In front of a raucous home crowd at the Klotsche Center on the campus of UWM, the Milwaukee Panthers stormed out early and never looked back in a, 87-70 thrashing of the Wright State Raiders in the quarterfinal round of the Horizon League tournament.

B.J Freeman returned from an early head injury to lead Milwaukee with 25 points while Trey Calvin paced the Wright State Raiders with 28 points.

The second-seeded Panthers led 45-27 at halftime behind 57% shooting and 54% from three and held off Wright State the rest of the way, as the Raiders never got closer than 11.

The win advances them to the semifinals in Indianapolis where they will play the winner of Robert Morris and Cleveland St. on Monday.
